Goodwin University Hosts Connecticut Foodshare Turkey - Nov. 12
East Hartford, CT (11/06/2025) — Goodwin University is proud to once again host their annual turkey drive, Thanksgiving for All, in cooperation with Connecticut Foodshare. Please plan to participate on Wednesday, November 12, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. This year, the Goodwin team has committed to collecting 100 turkeys and $1,000 in monetary donations at its Turkey Drive.
The collection spot will be the parking lot at 167 Riverside Drive, East Hartford, CT. Just drive up and hand off your donations to the volunteers.
As we head into the holiday season, concerns about food insecurity across the state are increasing - and families are looking to community organizations to help address their basic needs. According to Connecticut by the Numbers, food insecurity affects more than half a million residents in the state, including 122,000 or 1 in 6 children. Now, the government shutdown is further impacting the state's more than 400,000 residents who rely on the SNAP benefits program for food and essentials.
Goodwin University is looking to bolster its support for local families at this time of need, not only with its Turkey Drive but through its campus co-op. The University's Ann B. Clark Co-Op accepts donations of nonperishable food items, toiletries, hygiene products, and clothing to support Goodwin community members who may be facing financial hardship or food insecurity. These essential resources are free and available to all Goodwin students, staff, faculty, and magnet school families year-round, helping ensure that everyone has access to the basic items they need.
