On June 6, 2013, 26 Goodwin College students received their Bachelor's Degrees at the Commencement Ceremony. Goodwin awarded Bachelor's Degrees in Nursing, Health Science, and Child Study. Four more students will achieve Bachelor's Degrees in August and were invited to walk during the Commencement Ceremony.

Goodwin College is pleased to announce that 59 students have recently graduated from the College's prestigious Nursing Program. On Thursday, April 18, students were pinned as graduates of the program, a symbolic and important gesture marking the beginning of many successful careers in Nursing. All the graduating students have completed a rigorous curriculum challenging them both in the classroom and in clinical rotations, where students worked with patients at hospitals and other facilities throughout the region. Goodwin College has announced that 757 students have achieved GPAs of 3.5 or above and earned spots on the prestigous Dean's List for the Fall 2012 session. Students qualify for the Dean's List by maintaining a minimum 3.5 GPA and being registed in at least six credits. The following local students achieved Dean's List status:

Goodwin College has announced that 239 students have achieved perfect GPAs and earned spots on the prestigous President's List for the Fall 2012 session. To qualify students must maintain 4.0 GPAs and be registered for at least six college credits. The following local students achieved President's List status.

With the graduation of 43 nurses from the institution's most competitive program, Goodwin College set a milestone on Thursday, Dec. 13. The Associates Degree in Nursing Program has now graduated over 1,000 nurses since the College first offered the major in 2004. In eight years, the program has grown to be one of the largest and most successful in Connecticut, producing qualified nurses that excel in the personal quality they bring to the field. The College celebrated the achievement, as well as the personal accomplishments of its newest graduates, during a pinning ceremony held on Thursday.

Goodwin College has posted its Dean's List for the Summer 2012 Session, with 617 students achieving status on the list based on their academic performance. To make the Dean's List, students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA and be registered for at least six credits at the College. The following area students made the Dean's List:

Goodwin College neared a milestone this month as about 50 students were pinned as nurses after completing the College's rigorous nursing program. Since Goodwin established its Nursing program eight years ago, 982 students have been pinned as nurses and recited an oath in the tradition of Florence Nightingale. The College expects to pin its 1,000th nurse this Fall upon the next cohort completing the program. Family and friends crowded the Goodwin College Auditorium on August 16 for a special ceremony honoring the nursing graduates. Jan Costello, chair of the Nursing Department, reminded all the grads that they will never be forgotten, and asked that they always be caring and compassionate with their patients.

In her Commencement address to the Goodwin College Class of 2012, Board of Trustees Vice Chair Maria Ellis made it clear that the students were Navigators in their own right. Goodwin College celebrated its 13th Commencement on Saturday, holding the ceremony on its River Campus. Ellis congratulated the 534 graduates, many of whom were first generation college students, and urged them to celebrate their milestone. "I expect that for each of you, there are parts of this journey that have been the most difficult trials of your life," Ellis said. "And yet, as true Navigators, you have kept afloat, shot the rapids, and docked here safely." The following local students were members of the Class of 2012:

Of the 534 students who comprise the Goodwin College Class of 2012, 73 have earned the special distinction of graduating with honors. The College celebrated its ninth Commencement on Saturday, June 9, drawing thousands of people to its River Campus in East Hartford. To achieve Cum Laude status, a student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. A minimum 3.7 GPA is required to graduate Magna Cum Laude, and students achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Goodwin College is pleased to announce that 51 students were recently inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, an international honors society for students enrolled in Associate degree programs. The students were honored on May 11 during a special ceremony at the East Hartford-based college, where they were formally welcomed into the Beta Rho Delta chapter.

Goodwin College has named seven students as mentors for the 2012 Summer Bridge Academy, a rigorous six-week program designed to help students make the transition from high school to higher education. Enrollment for Summer Bridge is ongoing. Participating students have the chance to earn up to six college credits in Contemporary Music and Urban Limits. Additionally, students receive instruction in leadership development and both Math and English "Boot Camps" designed to bring their skills to college readiness. Goodwin College runs the program every summer, graduating 45 students during the 2011 program. An overwhelming majority continued on to college.
