Goodwin University's Erik Clement Recognized with Student Veteran Leadership Award
East Hartford, CT (05/05/2020) — The Viqtory Military Friendly® program, a nationwide initiative that creates civilian opportunities for veterans by promoting high standards and raising the bar for achievement, recently announced that Erik Clement of Waterbury, Connecticut, has been recognized with a 2020 Student Veteran Leadership Award. He is currently pursuing an associate degree in Business Administration at Goodwin University.
Clement is one of 48 student veteran leaders from throughout the U.S. to be honored. His inclusion reflects his positive impact on the University, as well as his impressive work with veteran-related activities on campus and in the greater community.
"Erik has been a unifying force behind the creation of our Student Veterans Club and has had a hand in most of our programs and initiatives," said Craig Jordan, Goodwin's Veterans Coordinator. "He is outstanding academically and has been recognized as a member of the Student Veterans National Honor Society as well as a Student Veteran of the Month. And, as a student intern, Erik helps support the important work of Rexhina Jonuzi, our Veterans Administration Certifying Official."
Clement is scheduled to be honored with the other recipients in the August issues of G.I. Jobs, a national publication that connects service members, veterans, and their families to civilian career, education, and business ownership opportunities.
