EAST HARTFORD, Conn (10/14/2026) — Goodwin University is expanding its no-cost education and career training programs to Massachusetts through SNAP Path to Work, which helps eligible Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants access employment and workforce training opportunities.

For more than 10 years, Goodwin has provided these opportunities to eligible SNAP recipients in Connecticut, with over 200 students completing SNAP Education and Training programs from 2024-2026 alone. In August 2026, the University launched a partnership with Vermont's 3SquaresVT, becoming the program's only SNAP education provider - extending its reach to qualifying Vermont residents and advancing its commitment to providing accessible career development opportunities.

Through SNAP Path to Work, eligible Massachusetts residents can pursue no-cost educational programming at Goodwin University - most offered fully online - including non-credit bearing training, short-term professional badge programs, certificates, and associate degrees. The programs prepare students for jobs in in-demand fields such as healthcare, business, manufacturing, human services, and funeral service - giving participants pathways to build sought-after career skills, pursue meaningful employment with higher earning potential and open doors to future educational opportunities.

"People want to work, and local industries need employees, but barriers like high cost and lack of flexibility make it incredibly difficult for a lot of folks to develop the skills and earn the credentials they need to advance professionally," said Mark Scheinberg, president of Goodwin University. "By partnering with SNAP Path to Work to offer no-cost programs in flexible formats, we can help people get trained for good-paying, in-demand jobs - and that's good for families, communities, and businesses. Everybody wins."

Through this expansion, eligible Massachusetts SNAP participants can access the following Goodwin University programs:

Associate degree programs

Certificate programs

Badge programs

Non-credit-bearing training

By offering multiple pathways to education and workforce development, Goodwin University aims to help eligible SNAP participants build practical skills, pursue credentials and prepare for opportunities in growing fields. The University's expanding partnerships across New England reflect its ongoing commitment to reducing barriers to education and connecting individuals with opportunities for personal, professional and economic growth.
