Goodwin College Student Awarded Augie & Ray's Scholarship

Goodwin College is pleased to congratulate student on being awarded the 2013 Augie & Ray's Milk Bar Scholarship.

Hemingway, who is seeking an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration, was awarded the scholarship at the 8th Annual Goodwin College Foundation Golf Tournament held on September 18. He is a resident of East Hartford and is the Treasurer of the Student Government Association.

Eligible students for the $1,000 scholarship were East Hartford residents enrolled at Goodwin College maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and at least 12 credits completed. Hemingway also had to submit an essay accompanying his application for the scholarship.

For decades, Augie & Ray's has been a breakfast and lunchtime favorite in East Hartford with a devoted base of local residents and workers. The restaurant is the home of the Big Mark Schein-burger, a sandwich named in honor of Goodwin College President Mark Scheinberg.

Ernie Hutt, the longtime owner of Augie & Ray's, has been a good friend to the College. Hutt presented the scholarship to Hemingway at a banquet held at the Topstone Golf Course in South Windsor..
